What's the difference between Assignee, Assignee (Std), and Current Assignee?
Assignee: The entity that has the property right officially recorded in the original patent document.
Assignee (Std): In some cases, the same assignee may look like a different entity due to the likelihood of different spellings or name arrangements from one patent document to another. Through Patentcloud's proprietary algorithm, assignees' names are Standardizaed as one, so enables users to quickly identify and group the patents owned by the same assignee.
Current Assignee: Based on Assignee (Original Assignee), when events such as renaming or transfers occur, the Current Assignee status will reflect a patent's latest owner.
