What's Semantic Search? What can it do?
Available for Patent Search Premium users only, Patentcloud's Semantic Search is a type of patent search that delivers patent results based on keyword concepts in terms of similarity.
Based on the likeness of meaning or semantic content, Patentcloud's Semantic Search looks for a result of patents not only having keywords, but also extensively including related keywords/ concepts.
Using InQuartik’s proprietary semantic similarity search algorithm, Patentcloud's Semantic Search results in a list of concepts that are similar to the results of the input criteria. Consequently, Semantic Search broadens your search by retrieving the most relevant patents, many of which are "hidden," different to be found otherwise.
One example is to use Semantic Search to identify "hidden" prior art references when defining the eligibility date.
