This release introduces a number of much-requested improvements and brand-new features for both Patent Search and Quality Insights: searching through patent documents and analyzing them just got easier and quicker.
When searching for a subgroup, select one of the search parameters available under the Classification (Hierarchy) section of the drop-down menu: search results will now include both the patents in that specific subgroup and those found within its child subgroups.
The hierarchical classification has been integrated natively into the Classification Query window, which is accessible under the customized query box: users can access it to perform a keyword search among both parent and child subclasses to narrow down the search results.
Data Improvement: EP Standardized Current Assignee
Patent Search standardizes assignee’s alternative spellings or name arrangements under a unique Assignee (Std) field, enabling users to identify and group documents together that are owned by the same assignee. With this release, we have significantly improved the quality of the EP Standardized Current Assignee data.
The revamped Quality Insights interface features a handy Toolbar to conveniently download any patent document into the Project folder or export it into an Excel spreadsheet.
Don't quite fully understand the foreign patents’ information which is listed in the Family Prior Art tab? This is no longer an issue: simply click the dedicated icon to translate the text into English or any other language available.
Additionally, any of the documents within the Family Prior Art, Second Degree Art, and Semantic Prior Art tab can now be compared with the patent at issue (by figures or key phrases) to identify any similarities quickly and efficiently.
Semantic Prior Art Results has Increased From 50 to 300
The dedicated tab will now list the top 300 relevant US patents (ranked by semantic similarity.) The results are calculated by comparing common concepts and keywords in titles, abstracts, and claims. We also worked on improving the accuracy of our algorithm.
